Privacy policy

The Plastfri extension scores products for plastic content by reading product titles and fiber-composition text on the shopping pages you visit. All of that analysis happens locally, inside your browser, using a materials dictionary that ships with the extension.

The extension makes no network requests while you shop. Page content, product data, browsing history, and search queries never leave your device and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

The only data the extension stores are your own settings: your chosen treatment mode, score threshold, per-site disable list, and your personal allow/always-flag overrides. These are saved with chrome.storage.sync, which means they are stored by your browser and synced across your devices by your own Google account. We have no access to them.

Access to websites (host permissions) — required so the extension can read product listings on whichever shop you visit and draw score badges on the page. Reading happens locally; nothing is sent anywhere.

activeTab — lets the popup show scan statistics for the tab you are on and offer a per-site on/off toggle.

storage — saves your settings, as described above.

This website is a static site. It requires no account, sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and contains no third-party trackers. Our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) may keep standard, short-lived server logs — including IP address and requested URL — for security and operations, as every host does.

We do not collect, sell, share, or monetize personal data. We do not profile you. We do not use your data to train AI models. The extension is free and has no premium tier, so there is no billing data either.

Plastfri does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

If Plastfri ever adds a feature that touches personal data (for example, an optional account or a product-submission tool), we will update this policy first and note the change here with a new effective date.
