Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Plastfri iPhone/iPad app, browser extension, plastfri.com website, product-scoring tool, product database, and paid Pro features (together, the “service”). By installing or using any part of the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Plastfri estimates the plastic content of products by reading publicly available information — product titles, fiber-composition text, and retailer product pages. Scores are generated automatically and reflect the information available at the time of scoring, which may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong at the source.

Scores and verdicts are informational only. They are not a certification, a laboratory analysis, or a claim about safety, quality, or environmental impact, and they are not medical, health, or professional advice. Before making a purchase decision that matters to you, verify the material composition on the product's own label or with the manufacturer.

Plastfri is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any retailer, brand, or manufacturer that appears in the service. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the products being scored.

Core scoring is free for personal, non-commercial use. Optional Pro features require a paid subscription. You agree not to:

— submit URLs or text that is unlawful, malicious, or that you don't have the right to share;
— probe, overload, scrape at scale, or otherwise interfere with the service, or evade its rate limits;
— misrepresent Plastfri scores as certifications or use them in a way that implies our endorsement;
— resell or repackage the service or its data as your own product without our written permission.

The scoring tool accepts a public product URL, an exact product name, and optional public listing text that you enter. When you submit a product, you ask us to research, score, and potentially publish the result. Published products become part of the public database and include source links when reliable sources are available. We may decline, remove, or re-score any entry at any time. Cloud product research remains subject to the queue and daily limits shown when you submit; a Pro subscription does not increase those limits.

If you submit a product name, URL, or description, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use it to operate the service — fetching, analyzing, scoring, and publishing the resulting product page. You keep whatever rights you have in what you submit.

Plastfri Pro is offered as an auto-renewable monthly or annual subscription. The exact price, currency, duration, and any introductory offer are shown by Apple before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.

Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation stops future renewals and does not normally refund the current period. Refund requests are handled under Apple's policies. Both durations unlock the same Pro feature set while the verified entitlement is active.

We may change future prices or the Pro feature set as permitted by law and Apple's rules. Apple will provide any notice or consent required for a subscription price increase. Core composition scoring remains available without a Pro subscription.

The Plastfri name, site design, guides, materials database, and scoring methodology are owned by Soxoa LLC. You may link to and quote the service with attribution; you may not copy it wholesale or pass it off as your own.

The service links to retailer product pages and other third-party sites we don't control and aren't responsible for. Their terms and privacy practices are their own. Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's applicable media-services terms and refund policies.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any score is correct.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Soxoa LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising out of or relating to your use of the service — including purchase decisions made in reliance on a score. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to fifty US dollars ($50). Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We may update these terms; if we do, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and your continued use is acceptance. We may block use that violates these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
