Polypropylene
Petro-synthetic
High plastic. Common in thermal layers, rugs, and reusable bags.
What polypropylene is
Polypropylene (PP) is a petroleum thermoplastic common in thermal base layers, rugs, upholstery backing, and reusable shopping bags. As a fiber it is light, hydrophobic, and quick-drying.
It is plastic through and through: it sheds microfibers, will not biodegrade, and — like most textile synthetics — has no meaningful garment recycling stream.
How Plastfri scores it
Polypropylene scores 100/100, weighted by its listed percentage like every other fiber.
The same weight applies everywhere: a product's score is the percentage-weighted plastic share of its listed fiber composition, and every weight is public.
